Grace Christian Reformed Church is a healthy, urban, intentionally multi-ethnic and diverse (in many ways) expression of God’s new family in Christ Jesus— a church that embraces, in the words of Revelation, “the healing of the nations.”

Our diversity is not only racial and ethnic. We are young and old. We are economically diverse. Our levels of education differ significantly. Our cultural backgrounds are different. We are not afraid of this diversity. We value it. Our worship experience at Grace reflects the range of our cultural differences. It is blended and inclusive so that we celebrate together how God by his grace has drawn us together into community.

We believe:

  • God has put Grace here on the corner of Buckley and Sheldon and blessed us with many relationships for a purpose: Witness!
  • Children and youth enrich our life in community.
  • Neighborhood engagement expresses our Christ-given love.
  • We all need to be cared for – in some way - all the time!
  • People who love and need each other attract neighbors and others desiring community.
  • Vibrant, joyful worship praises God and energizes all that we do.

Our strengths as a church are:

  • Preaching
  • Diversity
  • Location
  • Caring
  • Acceptance
  • Celebration

Our Core Values

Grace is committed to DIVERSITY— to celebrating and picturing the whole family of God. We believe in the value of a congregation with diversity of gender, age, race, educational background, culture, socio-economic level, and history.

Grace is committed to ACCEPTANCE of people wherever they are in their search for God and for purpose in life. We believe in letting people find their way to God in the context of a caring congregation, and in trusting God to draw them closer.

Grace is committed to MINISTRY. We value service as a necessary component of our individual and our corporate life.

Grace is committed to living its corporate life IN THE CITY. We are committed to corporate life in the city, in this neighborhood.

Grace is committed to CARING. The congregation is responsive to family needs, especially within the fellowship, and there is a strong web of caring contacts and personal support that is available for members and attendees.
